AbstractA solution for the bending of a full circular plate supported on equally spaced columns and subjected to an eccentric concentrated load is presented. The complete solutions for circular plates supported on three and four equally spaced columns are shown. The problem is solved under the assumptions that the columns do not restrain the rotation of the slab, and that the column reaction is uniformly distributed along the column width. The limiting case where the load is applied at the center of the plate is investigated and parametric studies are carried out. Numerical results are given for the case with arbitrary number of columns and subjected to a central load and the case with three columns under an eccentric concentrated load are presented in the form of charts to facilitate the analysis and design of such structures.
