AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior of an annular slab supported on columns equally spaced along a circle between the edges and subjected to uniformly distributed load. Parametric study is carried out and the deflection and stress resultants are presented in the form of charts to facilitate the analysis and design of this type of structural elements, e.g., an overhanging annular or full circular floor slab supported on columns, or an annular footing supporting a ring of columns provided that the bearing pressure of the soil is assumed to be uniform.
