| Abstract | This research study aims to determine digital technologies implementation in the supply
chain and their impact on sustainability in the petrochemical industry. The researcher
will use the qualitative method for this study. In-depth interviews with experts are the
approach for data collection. The researcher made individual online arrangements with
those interviewees. There are two parts of the interview questions, including the
implementation of digital technologies and the performance impact of digital
technologies in the supply chain. As a result, there are two main digital technologies
used, including Web based application (PI Coresight) and "Artificial Intelligence (AI)"
which are applied for process monitoring to focus on performance and machine usage.
For the green supply chain performance, upstream and downstream focus on the exact
dimensions, including air pollution (NOx, SOx, VOCs), waste management (hazardous
waste), Green House Gas (GHGs) emission, and resource consumption (water, energy).
Green supply chain performance is measured by company targets. Moreover, all
parameters have to comply with laws. The perspective of energy efficiency by using
"Artificial intelligence (AI)", "Machine Learning (ML)" have been in line with the study
of Yunting Feng et al., 2022. Moreover, the "Internet of Thing (IoT)" application can also
be supported in previous studies. Lastly, digital technologies can influence sustainable
performance in environmental, economic, and operational performance criteria.
However, there are many dimensions that still need to be implemented. It is another
opportunity for companies to be a more green supply chain. |
