| Abstract | Due to their complex nature and uncertain conditions, high-rise building projects face numerous risks in both housing and commercial sectors. This thesis provides a systematic investigation of risk in high-rise construction through an integrated methodological framework combining the Delphi technique and Bayesian Belief Networks (BBNs).In the first phase, the Delphi technique is employed to elicit expert knowledge and achieve consensus regarding the identification and evaluation of critical risk factors. Through iterative rounds of structured consultation, a panel of experts contributes to the development of a validated set of critical risks. In the subsequent phase, BBNs are applied to model and identify the interrelationships between these critical risk factors. The BBNs model enables the representation of causal relationships and uncertainty, facilitating a deeper understanding of how risks interact and influence within high-rise projects.Through this study, critical risk elements are determined, the model showing interdependencies between those critical risks are developed, and corresponding actions for handling them are proposed. The research helps clarify important aspects of the field, offers insight into construction project management, and provides a robust analytical framework applicable to high-rise building projects in Bangkok, Thailand. |
